- "nation" has 6 letters, but the first four, **"nati"**, already identify it, because **"nat"** also begins [nature](/bip39-word/nature/).
- The same spelling is in the [French BIP39 wordlist](/french/), but as word #1302 (index 1301), not #1179\. A wallet set to French reads "nation" as **10100010101** instead of **10010011010**, and decodes index 1178 as "machine".
